Whitney Wong is an artist working out of San Jose, CA.

Whitney makes paintings that explore the space between ordinary life and inherited ideas—drawn from religion, family lore, artistic clichés, and recurring motifs. The work investigates what it means to hold multiple, often conflicting, logics at once. By suspending visual fragments within sustained painterly structures, she considers how personal history, ritual, and dislocation both confuse and generate meaning. Her interests include how enduring ideas persist and shape perception, how taste is inherited, and how we cling to the past even as our tools and ways of life continue to evolve.
